My mind is always racing with thoughts and ideas. Most of them are completely absurd, but 1 out of 100 is definitely worth attention. I have always known this, just as I realized that if I merely recorded these thoughts on a voice recorder, no one (including myself) would ever listen to them. Consequently, a standard voice recorder doesn’t solve the problem of capturing ideas.
Recording videos of myself felt technically overwhelming. Besides, looking at my own face and listening to endless “umms,” “ahhs,” filler words, and awkward pauses didn’t seem like a viable solution either.
So, here is the workaround I came up with:
Audio Recording
Recording audio on a proprietary voice recorder on a Samsung smartphone.
Transcription
Transcribing this audio in the same voice recorder (getting raw text).
Writing a Prompt
Manually writing a prompt like: “Turn the transcribed text into an article”.
Copying to an LLM
Pasting the transcribed text along with the prompt into an AI (e.g., Gemini).
Final Result
Getting an article ready for publication.
Convenient? For me, it turned out to be quite workable. However, doing this manually every single time quickly became a chore, and by the third attempt, I simply gave up.
That was the exact moment I realized I could transform this entire routine into an automated process. But instead of relying on Samsung’s built-in transcriber (which I didn’t particularly like), I decided to leverage other, more advanced services.
How the Idea for ComPost Was Born
I started thinking about HOW TO MAKE THE APPLICATION CONVENIENT FOR ME. And in the end, I built it.
During the development process, I realized that this approach allowed me to work not just with text, but with other types of data as well. That is how the project evolved into the integrations that are already built into ComPost.
I have been working in Digital since around 2007, when my early passion for IT led to creating my very first websites. Later on, I worked as an SEO expert, which gave me a clear vision of, first and foremost, how proper interfaces are built, and what real users actually value in digital services.
Product Philosophy: A Digital “Swiss Army Knife”
The philosophy behind ComPost grew from simple notes you don’t have to type into a voice-controlled dashboard for various services.
ComPost can and will scale into other industries, services, and integrations. This will allow users in the future to perform more and more actions without typing text or even launching other applications. ComPost is a digital “Swiss Army Knife,” where the quantity and choice of tools are entirely up to the user.
- Our #1 priority for ComPost is simplicity. The app is designed for people who don’t understand programming or third-party services and have no desire to learn them.
- It takes an untrained user just 5 to 15 minutes to master ComPost. Everything that happens inside the app is intuitive and visually clear.
A Firm Stance on Privacy
This is an absolutely non-negotiable point for me. ComPost is configured so that our servers never store the results of your prompts, your voice recordings, or your transcriptions. All of this remains exclusively on your device, and no one has access to it but you.
The prompts you create (the instructions for the AI that processes your audio recordings) are stored in WordPress in an encrypted format, and no one except you can read them.
This is our company policy. We do not train our models on your data, nor do we use your information for analysis or marketing. We simply have no access to it whatsoever.
Support and Future Roadmap
Right now, ComPost is only available for the Android platform and operates as a completely independent project. It is funded out of pocket and sustained by user subscriptions.
I highly rely on your paid subscriptions, as this is the only way to keep the project completely independent.
On the horizon:
- Releasing ComPost for iOS;
- Adding more direct integrations.
